This Privacy Policy describes how CareerLyft Technologies (“CareerLyft”, “we”, or “us”) collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects your personal or corporate information that you may provide to us through using domain careerlyft.com (the "Site" or "Website"); tools or applications including, but not limited to, mobile and other software applications related to the Site (the "Applications"); and images, text, metadata and other material available through the Service (the "Content") (collectively, the "Service").

We respect the privacy of our online visitors and registered users (“Users”) as such we will take reasonable steps to protect your information. By accepting these during registration and by using the Website, you agree to the use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

This Privacy Policy is part of, and is governed by, the terms and conditions set forth in the CareerLyft's Terms of Use.

1. About Us

CareerLyft is an online platform that makes it easy for job-seekers and career businesses to create resumes, cover letters and other job search instruments.

2. Changes to the Privacy Policy

We may need to amend or modify our privacy policy from time to time, as our technology evolves. We reserve the right to make changes to this privacy policy at any time. When we do so, we'll post the most current version on the Website and notify you using the email provided by you.

We advise that you check this page often, referring to the date of the last modification on the page If a User objects to any of the changes to the Policy, the User may terminate using the Service within a thirty (30) day period and you will not be bound by the new terms.

3. Age Restriction

Our Website is not intended for the use by children under the age of 13. If you are under the age of 13, stop now and do not provide us with any information. We will delete any information we believe is related to a child under the age of 13.

4. The Information we Collect

CareerLyft is used by Careerlyft “Users” and CareerLyft "Partners". The information we receive from Users and Partners and how we handle it differs, as set out below.

4.1 Personal Information

To gain full access to our website and services, you must register for a CareerLyft account. We collect information relating to you and your use of our Services from a variety of sources:

Information we collect directly from the User:

Registration information: information you provide to us when you register for an account (e.g. email, password, name, telephone no , birth date, address and photo)

Resume information: We store your resume data (content and design settings) for you.

"My Account" settings: you can view and edit various preferences and personal details on "My Account" settings. For example, your name, birth date, country, and non-transactional communication preferences.

Plan + Billing info: We store information about your Plan. If you subscribe to a paid plan, we require you to provide your billing details.

From other sources: CareerLyft collects usage data, device and application data, referral data, cookie and page tags.

Other data you want to share: We may collect your personal information or data if you submit it to us in other contexts. For example, if you provide us with a testimonial, or when running a promotion with CareerLyft.

We use your information to:

  • Provide you with the required services.
  • Respond to your questions or requests.
  • Improve CareerLyft's operations.
  • Address inappropriate use of our website.
  • Prevent, detect and manage risk against illegal activities.
  • Target advertisements, newsletter and service updates
  • Update our database, improve content and website layout.
  • Resolve disputes that may arise.


4.1 Information we collect from website visitors

We do not collect your Personal Information when you visit the website. However, so we can monitor and improve our website and services we may collect non-personally-identifiable information. We will not share or disclose this information with third parties except as a necessary part of providing our website and services. We may use the information to target advertisements to you.



4.2 Information we collect from partners

When you signup with CareerLyft as a partner, we collect and store your personal and business information such as email address, country, mobile phone number, business name, and business size. We store all your customers' resume and personal information and connect it to your account, so you have full right to modify, edit, and delete their data.

5. Cookies

A cookie is a small string of information that the website you visit transfers to your computer to identify you. Cookies allow our servers to remember your account log-in information when you visit our website, IP addresses, date and time of visits, and monitor your usage activities. Cookies help us make your user experience easier, customise our services, content and advertising; help you ensure that your account security is not compromised.

If your browser or browser add-on permits, you can disable cookies on our website, however this may limit your ability to use our website.

6. How we use and share information

To enable us render our services to you on our website, we may share and disclose your Personal Information to the following types of third parties: (for purposes of this section, "you", and "your" refer to Users, Partners and Visitors unless otherwise indication)



(i) Our service providers: Somtimes, we share your information with our third-party service providers, who help us provide and support our Services and other business related functions.

For example, if it is necessary to provide Users something they have requested (like enable a feature such as Send Resume to Employer), then we may share User's Personal Information with a service provider for that purpose. Other examples include analyzing data, hosting data, engaging technical support for our Services, processing payments, and delivering content.

The use of your information by such third party will be subject to their applicable privacy policy, which you should carefully review.

In connection with our Services, we use a third-party service provider, SendGrid. We use SendGrid's API, which allows us to build features into our CareerLyft application to enable us to send emails programmatically. We use Paystack's and Flutterwave's API, which allows us to collect payments in multiple currencies. We use Quickbooks API to keep track of all the payment records for accounting purposes.



(ii) Any competent law enforcement body, regulatory body, government agency, court or other third partywhere we believe disclosure is necessary (a) as a matter of applicable law or regulation, (b) to exercise, establish, or defend our legal rights, or (c) to protect your vital interests or those of any other person.



(iii) A potential buyer (and its agents and advisors) in the case of a sale, merger, consolidation, liquidation, reorganization, or acquisition. In that event, any acquirer will be subject to our obligations under this privacy policy, including your rights to access and choice. We will notify you of the change either by sending you an email or posting a notice on our Website.

9. Data Rights

You may cancel your account and you may opt out of receiving any emails from CareerLyft at any time by changing the settings in your account settings page.

Deleting your account will cause all the resume data in the account to be permanently deleted from our systems within a reasonable time period and will disable your access to any other services that require a CareerLyft account.

You may contact us directly at any time about accessing, correcting, updating, or deleting your Personal Information, or altering your data or marketing preferences by emailing us at hello@careerlyft.com. We will consider your request in accordance with applicable laws.

CareerLyft is statutory obligated to retain the data you provide us with in order to provide a good user experience, process transactions, and make refunds in compliance with laws and regulatory guidelines applicable to us.

Therefore, even after closing your CareerLyft account, we will retain certain data to comply with these obligations.

10. Data Security

We take appropriate and reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect Personal Information from loss, misuse, unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, and destruction, taking into account the risks involved in the processing and the nature of the Personal Information. CareerLyft accounts require an email and password to log in. Users and Partners must keep their password secure, and never disclose it to a third party. Because the information in your CareerLyft account is so sensitive, account passwords are hashed, which means we cannot see a User’s password. We cannot resend forgotten passwords either. We will only provide you with instructions on how to reset them.
