Please read these Terms carefully. By using CareerLyft or signing up for an account, you’re agreeing to these Terms, which will result in a legal agreement between you and CareerLyft (“Agreement”).

About Us

CareerLyft ("CareerLyft", "Careerlyft", “we,” or “us”) is an online platform (the “Service”) offered through the URL www.careerlyft.com (we’ll refer to it as the “Website”) that makes it easy for job-seekers and career businesses to create resumes. CareerLyft has employees, independent contractors, and representatives (“our Team”).

As a customer of the Service or a representative of an entity that’s a customer of the Service, you’re a "Customer" according to this Agreement (or “you”). As a CareerLyft partner that utilize our Service to serve your clients, you’re a "Partner" according to this Agreement. Some features of the Service are offered as add-ons to your CareerLyft account (“Add-ons”). Unless expressly stated otherwise, these Terms apply to the use of Add-ons.

These Terms of Use (“Terms,”) define the terms and conditions under which you’re allowed to use the Service in accordance with the Agreement, and how we’ll treat your account while you’re a Customer. If you don’t agree to these Terms, you must immediately discontinue your use of the Service.

Eligibility

In order to use the Service, you must:

  1. be at least thirteen (13) years old and able to enter into contracts;
  2. complete the registration process;
  3. agree to these Terms;
  4. provide true, complete, and up-to-date contact and billing information; and

By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet all the requirements listed above, and that you won’t use the Service in a way that violates any laws or regulations. Note that by representing and warranting, you are making a legally enforceable promise.

CareerLyft may refuse service, close accounts of any Customer, and change eligibility requirements at any time.

Term

When you sign up for the Service and agree to these Terms, the Agreement between you and Careerlyft is formed, and the term of the Agreement (the “Term”) will begin. The Term will continue for as long as you have a CareerLyft account or until you or we terminate the Agreement in accordance with these Terms, whichever happens first.

Entering your email, password and clicking the “Get Started” button means that you’ve officially “signed” and accepted the Terms. If you sign up for the Service on behalf of a company or other entity, you represent and warrant that you have the authority to accept these Terms and enter into the Agreement on its behalf.

Closing Your Account

You or CareerLyft may terminate the Agreement at any time and for any reason by terminating your account or giving notice to the other party. We may suspend the Service to you at any time, with or without cause. If we terminate your account without cause, and your account is a paid account, we’ll refund a prorated portion of your monthly prepayment . We won’t refund or reimburse you in any other situation, including if your account is suspended or terminated for cause, like a breach or any violation of the Agreement.

If your account is inactive for 24 or more months, we may terminate the account. Once your account is terminated, you acknowledge and agree that we may permanently delete your account and all the data associated with it, including your Resumes, Cover Letters, and Customer Details (in the case of Partners).

Updates, Modifications & Amendments

We may need to update, modify or amend our Terms of Use as our technology evolves. We reserve the right to make changes to this Terms of Use at any time by giving notice to users on this page.

We advise that you check this page often, referring to the date of the last modification on the page If a user objects to any of the changes to the Terms of Use, the User must cease using our website and/or services immediately.

Account and Password

When you create an account on CareerLyft, you're responsible for keeping your login credentials confidential and secure. Please, use a "strong" password" to ensure that your private information, your resumes and billing information are safe.

You’re also responsible for any account that you have access to and any activity occurring in such account (other than activity that CareerLyft is directly responsible for that isn’t performed in accordance with your instructions), whether or not you authorized that activity.

You’ll immediately notify us of any unauthorized access or use of your accounts. We’re not responsible for any losses due to stolen or hacked passwords that are caused by or result from your negligence.

We don’t have access to your current password, and for security reasons, we may only provide you with instructions on how to reset your password

Resume Content

You are solely responsible for all the personal, resume and cover letter content you create using our Services. We may review content to determine whether it violates our policies, and we may remove content in those cases. But that does not necessarily mean that we review content, so please don’t assume that we do.

Payments and Subscription

When you sign up for a monthly, quarterly, semi-annually or yearly plan, you agree to recurring billing. At the beginning of each billing period you will be automatically charged for the entire period.

You may pause your subscription or you may choose to close your account permanently at any time. Our charges for Plans are posted on our Website and We may change our fees at any time by updating the new pricing structure to our Website and sending you a notification by email.

If you go over your plan limit — resume limit, cover letter limit — before the end of your billing period, then you'll have to upgrade to a higher plan.

If you haven't exceeded your plan limit but the billing period has elapsed, you're can renew or upgrade your plan but you'll get a rollover from the previous billing period.

If you use the Service under the Free Plan, you're required to share CareerLyft on your social account to download your resume, or otherwise upgrade your account to a paid plan. If you go over the limits for the Free Plan or you stay on the plan for more than the specified time period (14 Days), you’ll no longer qualify for the Free Plan and you’ll have to upgrade to a higher plan.

Downgrading your plan may cause the loss of access to some capabilities of your Account. CareerLyft does not accept any liability for such loss.

Cancellation

If you no longer need our Service, for example after you got an amazing new job, it is solely your responsibility to cancel the subscription (through the Billing page) before the next billing date. After successful cancellation of your subscription you will receive an email confirmation.

We are not always able to respond to cancellation requests via email, nor to issue a refund if have not canceled (unless there is evidence of a technical issue on our side that prevented you from canceling).

Refunds

We’ll give you a refund for a prepaid month if we stop providing the Service and terminate your account without cause. Any monthly fees paid to us are non-refundable if you have used our services during that billing period (unless there is evidence of a technical issue on our side that prevented you from canceling or using the Service entirely). Quarterly, Semi-annual, and Annual fees are eligible for a partial pro-rated refund. However, We may, at our sole discretion, offer a refund if a Customer requests one.

Billing Changes

We may change our fees at any time by posting a new pricing structure to our Website and/or sending you a notification by email.

Privacy

Your personal information and content is governed by our Privacy Policy. By using CareerLyft, you agree to our Privacy Policy.

Applicable Law

These Terms of Use shall be interpreted and governed by the laws currently in force in the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, you assume full responsibility for any loss that results from your use of the Website and the Service, including any downloads from the Website. We and our Team won’t be liable for any indirect, punitive, special, or consequential damages under any circumstances, even if they’re based on negligence or we’ve been advised of the possibility of those damages.

In any calendar month, our total liability to you arising under or in connection with the Agreement—whether in contract, tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise—will be no more than what you paid us for the Service the preceding billing period.

In addition, for the avoidance of doubt, in no instance will we be liable for any damages that may arise as a result of the loss of use, data, or profits connected to the performance of the Services or failure in such performance.

No Warranties

We try to keep CareerLyft available at all times, bug-free and safe, However, you use at your own risk. Our Services are provided "as-is" without any express, implied and/or statutory warranties (including, but not limited to, any implied or statutory warranties of fitness for a particular use or purpose, title, and non-infringement of intellectual property rights).

Without limiting the generality of the foregoing, CareerLyft makes no warranty that our website and services will meet your requirements or that our website will be uninterrupted, timely, secure, or error free.

We and our Team aren’t responsible for the behavior of any third parties, affiliated companies, linked websites, or other Members.

Right to Review Content

We may view, copy, and internally distribute Content from your Resumes and Cover Letters to create algorithms and programs (“Tools”) that help us improve the Service. We use these Tools solely for the purpose of gathering data internally to make the Service smarter and create better experiences for Customers and Partners.

Severability

If it turns out that any portion of these Terms is held by any court or tribunal to be invalid or unenforceable, either in whole or in part, then that portion will be removed or edited as required, and the rest of the Agreement will still be valid.
